All Aspects of Landscaping

Landscaping across Essex and Suffolk — patios, decking, fencing, lawns and planting.

01 · Overview

Landscaping in Essex & Suffolk

Tree Volution is not only a tree surgery company — we also design, update and build gardens and outdoor spaces across Essex and Suffolk. Landscaping covers the whole plot: how you move around it, what you sit on, and how planting and lawns tie the space together.

Whether you are turning a tired lawn and empty patio into a garden you use every week, or fitting out commercial grounds, we plan hard and soft works together. Based in Colchester, we often follow tree work or site clearance so the ground is ready for the next stage.

What is landscaping?

Landscaping is the deliberate design, construction and upkeep of outdoor space — usually a garden or commercial plot. It balances natural elements such as lawns, shrubs and planting with built features like patios, paths, decking and fencing.

A full redesign might replace an underused lawn and bare patio with defined zones for dining, play and planting. Smaller projects — a new driveway, deck or fence line — are landscaping too when they are planned as part of how the space works.

Landscaping services we provide

Patios, block paving and driveways — designed and built for safe, level access; we can refresh an existing surface or construct a new driveway or terrace.

Fencing — replacement of tired panels or new runs to suit boundaries, pets and privacy.

Decking — custom timber decks for gardens and commercial yards, built as usable outdoor living space rather than a platform in the corner.

Lawns — strip-out and returf, or seed, depending on soil, shade and how quickly you need a usable sward.

Shrubs and planting — supply and planting to add structure and colour; we can advise on species that suit Essex and Suffolk soils and your maintenance appetite.

Landscaping with tree and garden care

Because we handle trees and gardens in-house, landscaping slots alongside tree removal, stump grinding and garden maintenance — one contractor from bare plot to finished garden.

02 · How it works

How we approach a landscaping project

  1. 01

    Consultation & brief

We walk the site, discuss how you use the space, and agree scope — hard landscaping, planting, drainage and any clearance needed first. Written quote within 48 hours.

  2. 02

    Ground preparation

Existing surfaces, vegetation or stumps are removed where required. Levels and sub-base are prepared so patios, paving and lawns have a stable foundation.

  3. 03

    Build & plant

Fencing, decking, paving and driveways are constructed to agreed specifications; turf or seed and shrubs follow once hard works are in place.

  4. 04

    Handover

We review the finished garden with you, clear construction waste, and leave guidance on early aftercare for new turf and planting.

05 · Frequently asked

The questions we hear most.

Every job is quoted on site — price depends on tree size, access, complexity and what's removed from the garden. We don't bill for the quote visit, and the written quote is what you pay.
